So as a results - here is MACROCYCLE. The saying “Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and feed him for life” is never more true than in this case. But in my experience – people just want the fish!
So here it is. MY best attempt at 33 weeks worth of fish! A 33 week long fitness program.
A MACROCYCLE is a Periodization buzz word that basically means long-term plan. I rarely write programs of this length – as things change, clients change, goals change etc. However client demand has produced this ebook, despite my hesitation.
I’ve designed this program around a typical client, looking to get in general fitness shape, with limited time, resources and equipment. Don’t get me wrong. My own gym is filled with equipment - different bars, kettlebells, medicine balls, Swiss balls, chains, bands, balance boards, free motion equipment and a ton of other devices that not only make training more effective, but also more fun. If you have access to a ton of equipment, then use it – adapt these programs as you see fit. If you don’t, however, and rely on nothing more than a few free weights. I hear you. That’s where I started. This book is written with you in mind.
I’ve always hated programs that required you to belong to a state-of-the-art training center, to know cirque de soleil type exercises or to give a time commitment of three hours per day, so this is written with the absolute bare minimum of equipment, volume and time.
As basic as it is, it’s balanced, safe and even more effective. I hope you enjoy it. And don’t just read it. DO IT!!
